Bats got singles Matthews (CS) and Alonso in the first, as well as a walk from Frazier. Couldn't score though.

Jordan Hotchkiss has allowed 2 runs (1 earned) through 6 for Lynchburg who has yet to score.

Volquez 2 K's 1 BB no hits through 2. Didn't he face Porcello like 2 starts ago?
"He looked like a surfer kid from SoCal," manager Dusty Baker says. "He didn't say much, but you could tell he was cool."

Hotchkiss gave up a solo HR in the 7th. The Hillcats trail 3-0.

I assume they sent the Coach out there to tell Volquez to stop trying to win this game by himself and to pitch to contact...to trust his Defense.

Edinson bears down and gets Wilkin Ramirez to strike out to end the threat.

    4 IP, 0 H, 3 BB, 1 HBP, 5 K

    66 pitches, just 35 strikes (o_O)
