The Cards in the 2nd half

If they get a good starter before the trade deadline it will be tuff to beat them.....since they lost their 4 and 5 starters a month ago they have still played .500 ball.

They lost their # 2 rbi man Ludwick for a month and the .300 hirring Freese for 3 weeks...Molina has been awful and the great Carpenter has been awful in his last 3 starts.

They need a #4 starter...really bad. If they get Harren it will be all over for the NL Central.

The Reds have a way better offence and defence, but the pen is suspect.

The F.O. MUST make a move.

Magdal wants a move and Walt hops on the phone. The result - Russ Springer. Magdal has some major juice in the organization.

Very mean, Tex....I thought you were my guy.

I DO want a move....Walt needs to get a good starter signed.

They're going to have the same issue with Jaime Garcia that we do with Mike Leake (he only pitched like 40 innings last year due to injury), but they don't (as far as I know) have the Travis Wood/Matt Maloney types waiting in the wings...

Assuming this team brings the bats home from New York (since apparently they didn't make the Philly trip), I like our chances for the first time in a really long time...

that being said, I'm sure I just jinxed them...

LaRussa can't afford to baby Garcia's arm, he's going to ride him hard, and Garcia's pace is bound to slow down eventually.
"He looked like a surfer kid from SoCal," manager Dusty Baker says. "He didn't say much, but you could tell he was cool."

Why does Magdal want the Reds to make a move? He claims to be a Cardinals and Cubs fan.

Which is only going to help us in the future when he goes out with an inevitable arm injury...

If you had not noticed, I'm sick of the LaRussa era Cards. Since they are gonna lose whether I root for them or not, it makes little difference.

I'm not a REAL Cub fan but I was sure rooting for them last year. This year they just suck so I have lost interest. The Reds are exiting and due. If they win the Central that's just fine with me. If they falter and drop out of the picture I will lose interest in them too. But I REALLY don't see that happening.

Have a nice day Rijo, and enjoy the wasteland that is NSBB. Oh...and try to get a life.

What do you care what wagon I'm riding? I can't root for a team that I can't follow on TV or radio. My sympathy for the Cubs was exausted when they were all but dropped on WGN.

I get Reds games now for the 1st time with my new TV carrier and I like what they are doing. I hope I have your permission to root as I see fit.
