    Chris Dickerson: The forgotten man?

He went 2 for 3 with the Bats tonight in his first game back. Really good news IMO. I thought it sounded like he was doomed to miss the rest of the year. I think he's a bit of a forgotten man on this team, when the times he's been healthy (which haven't been a ton, admittedly) he's really done well.

A .274/.367/.421 career hitter, compared to our other OF's stats this year:

    Gomes: .277/.330./.471
    Stubbs: .235/.310/.399
    Bruce: .266/.339/.446

I definitely think when healthy he can be an everyday option, either in center or left depending on who's pitching. I think he's going to be a bigger boost than people think if he can come back.

I guess he's better than Nix, but at his age of 28, and given that he OPS'ed .743 last year, I'm not that excited.

yeah I like Chris he should take Nix spot when he gets back if nothing else is open. he will really help the offense in a platoon type role with Stubbs. having him and brandon at the top and pushing ocab down in the lineup will really help. it also helps the bench.

that's a pretty good ops for a CF who can also run the bases a little bit as well. brings alot to the table.

I believe that .750 is average for a NL CF'r. So yeah it isn't that bad. I like Dickerson over Nix who really is having a pretty crappy year.

I do like Nix's pop off the bench but I think Dickerson brings more to the table overrall with speed and defense.

He should take Nix's spot, but should not sniff everyday PT. He's better than Nix in every way except power off the bench, and would be much more useful imo.

I think Chris Dickerson should forget about baseball and join Greenpeace already.

AND patience at the plate. I like the idea of keeping NIX and having two lefthanded hitters off the bench. An opposing team brings in their left handed specialist to face one hitter we still have one of the two in our back pocket. Most teams only have one very good (if any) southpaw to get lefty's out.

I like Dickerson but he probably won't be called up until Sept. unless there is an injury (to someone else). Matthews too.

I think you should go take a nice vacation down to the gulf. God forbid if a player has a hobby different than chasing women, playing video games and drinking and drugging.
