Still no rolen ... and still no Janish getting the start in place of him. Sigh.
"He looked like a surfer kid from SoCal," manager Dusty Baker says. "He didn't say much, but you could tell he was cool."

In his last 3 starts, Martin is 1-1 with 3.00 ERA and 8 Ks in 15.0 IP. He is coming off his first win of the season, a 7-6 victory over the Padres. He gave up two runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings. Martin is 1-0 against the Reds in his career.

In his career, he's only faced three batters in the Reds lineup:
    Phillips: 0-2
    Votto: 1-2, 1 RBI
    Hanigan: 0-3

John Fay just reported that he is dealing with a right hamstring and the flu. He got a cortisone shot and is day to day.

This is not good. I had no idea he had a hamstring issue.

I hope they are a little more patient than they have been recently. No more 4 PA with 9 total pitches please. L(

Let's see if the REDS can take more than 2 pitches per at-bat tonight.

It took Phillips 3 pitches to make an out. That's an improvement.
