Neftali Soto as a catcher seems to be done for this season. It is expected that he gets reps in instructional league. He has been catching bullpen sessions and even some batting practice still.

Well, Denis Phipps is officially hot. He has homered tonight, after a home run, triple and double last night. Lynchburg is tied 3-3.

Edit: Whoops. Guess I'm too slow.

The VSL Reds won 2-1 behind a strong start (7.2 IP, 0 ER) by Franderlin Romero, an excellent name. In spite of a 2-5 record, he has a 2.20 ERA.

Those battling, never-say-die DSL Reds gutted it out in 15 innings today, 5-3--despite going 10 straight innings without a run. The Reds' all-star, Abel De Los Santos, started the game, but three relievers--Jose Guzman, Carlos Ramos and Eury Cantalizo--combined to go 9 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 13 K. Nice.
