Wow, that's a surprise. I didn't think they'd move Owings until Izzy was ready. Can't really complain, though.

I'm surprised because I thought Owings was out of options.

Guess the Reds front office is as frustrated with Owings as a bunch of us on this board...

Good move. Fisher has great AAA numbers this year. Owings needs the regular work to get back to form. Makes sense.

This seems like a temporary move since Dusty used Fisher earlier in the year like he has used Owings lately. Just filling a hole that Isringhausen will fill in a couple weeks.

When in the world does Chapman come up?

Of course. But it still also speaks to their frustration with Owings. They didn't want to wait around the two weeks or so until Izzy is ready.

I think it was unfair to Micah, considering how little he's been used recently. Anyone would be rusty.

And the hounding to bring Chapman up, reminds me of the Bailey hype. And the Reds finally gave up and brought him into the fold too early. I hope they don't do that this time.

That was a FO (Krivsky) that saw the writing on the wall. It was a desperate move that clearly isn't needed here. Chapman will probably get a Sept. callup.

I think this move was necessary due to the lack of available arms tonight. The only two who didn't pitch out of the pen last night were Smith and Ondrusek. Cordero and Masset had gone back to back days and Bray needs tonight off. In case rain plays a factor tonight, we need another reliever.

Fisher = shuffling deck chairs, imo. It's kinda moot, anyway, since Izzy/Springer will be here in a couple of weeks.

I still like Owings as a part of this team in the future. It is not exactly ideal to pitch after 16-day layoffs.

There are 30 million reasons that Chapman will be called up when the rosters expand. Despite his control problems, he will put fannies in the seats.

I think he's getting squeezed though. Too talented to sit for 2 weeks between games. He'd be a nice trade piece and I'm totally willing to let him go.
