Fun (and often fascinating) read on the concept of villains (real and imaginary) in pop culture. Most fun I've had reading a book in some time.
I've read a couple of his other books (Fargo Rock City and Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs), so I'll have to check out that one.

I'm a Klosterman fan too so I'm looking forward to this one. I also enjoyed his first attempt at a novel, "Downtown Owl."

I just finished it. There are a ton of slow parts in it but overall it's very good. The last few chapters were worth the price of the book in itself.

Just started Joe Hill's 'Horns'. I've read his other two novels and likely will read his short stories after this.

I went to a used book store in downtown Waxhaw, NC and picked up "The Road" by Cormac MaCarthy and "The Sword of Shannara" by Terry Brooks. I started reading both, "The Road" is quite depressing.

You got that right. It's pretty well done but man, is it bleak.

    "Ike's Bluff" by Evan Thomas.

How Eisenhower played the Russians in the 50's and early 60's. Pretty interesting.

I read "The Road" and Robert Mccammon's "Swan Song" back to back.

I was about ready to slit my wrists after that.

Finished that one a couple of months ago. Eisenhower's an interesting figure.

Do you ever find yourself shouting "Waxhaw!" like the dudes in those bad commercials? I do.

I am reading Cincinnati Seasons by Earl Lawson. I have had this book for a long time but I don't think I had ever read it. Lawson tells stories from his 30+ years of covering the Reds. Mostly funny stories and some run ins he had with players over the years. Very good chapter on Johnny Temple. Lawson has been dead for ten years now but these stories are still a fun read.

Been working on "Life", Keith Richards memoirs, off and on for several months now and finished it this past weekend. Dude has got some incredibly good stories as I'm sure you can imagine.

Started "Damned" by Chuck Palahniuk and I'm about halfway through it now. Decent so far.
