Walt makes a deal for Corey Hart, Chris Young, Dan Haren, Fausto Carmona, Roy Oswalt, or Jose Bautista..I think he knows he has to make a statement knowing the Cardinals are gonna make a splash and I'm pretty sure he is willing to do that with the farm system we have.

Honestly this is wishful thinking but having Adam Dunn's Batt in our lineup or Zach Grienke in our rotation or Joakim Soria in our bullpen would make us instant players in the playoffs along with a few other minor moves... Moving Russ Springer and Aroldis Chapman in our bullpen..

Walt does nothing, Big Bob says lack of attendance means no payroll flex and the Reds fall 10 games out finishing 80-82.

"We are just not going to lose anymore".
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

I think at most he gets a bench bat to replace Nix. I just dont see too much out there since the Lee trade didnt happen.

Hart is a rental and not a good choice as his numbers won't match his first half
Young/Haren are going to require to much
Fausto/Camona are not of enough of an upgrade of what we have to get
Oswalt won't allow a deal to the Reds
    Bautista is like Hart

    Where do you play Dunn?
Royals will not part with Grienke and will want way to much for Soria.

If Bob is willing to spend 30 million on a untested, unkown like Chapman, why wouldn't he add some to bring in a player to push the Reds into the playoffs and the monies that come with those additional games?

    Not exactly.

Bautista, while arbitration-eligible in the offseason, can't become a free agent until after the 2011 season.

Plus, he also can play 3rd base.

That said, the Jays do not need to deal him now, and most likely won't unless they are blown away with an offer.

Translation: The price may too prohibitive.

Where is the option that says "Walt will make a minor move involving relevant MLB talent to bolster the bench/bullpen."?

Because that's what I see happening.
"He looked like a surfer kid from SoCal," manager Dusty Baker says. "He didn't say much, but you could tell he was cool."

I don't want Adam Dunn in our lineup. We already have a right handed version of him in LF.

Hart is not a free agent until after the 2011 season, so it's more than a rental.

Fausto/Carmona? His name is Fausto Carmona. It's one guy. He has the ability to be under contract through 2014 (tons of club options). He has a 3.51 era in the AL. Leake and Wood will be approaching their max innings in August. Volquez is not proven he is back yet. For the right price it would not be a bad deal.

I agree, Oswalt is not happening.

I'm not sure about Bautista. He has never put up numbers anything near this year. I don't think he is someone the Reds should go after.

I don't mind the .274 and 64 RBI at the end of July version of him at all out in left field. Sure beats the .247 BA Dunn had in his red career. Here's a good fact for you. Johnny has nearly half of the amount of SF's that Dunn had in his whole red career. IN ONE YEAR.

His OPS+ is also 109 compared to Dunns 147

    Gomes is no Dunn.

I am going to predict that Walt trades for RHP Zach Greinke and RHP Joakim Soria

ACE pitcher and Legit Bull Pen guy.

I think Walt unloads Mega prospects for the Deal and the Reds win the Division
