It looks like GMJ will not be a Red.

Gary Matthews Jr.'s agent says Sarge Jr. will exercise right to opt out of T-A contract w/ #Reds tomorrow. Looking for major-league job.

So much for him being our new center fielder and taking all the playing time from Stubbs and Bruce I guess.

Good news, him and Dusty are pals, he would be starting over Stubbs if he were up here.

Terrible news, he's my favorite player of all time, and should start at any of the three outfield spots.

Doesn't bother me, although I'd like to see this team get another lefty hitter who would be taken seriously. (Mathews is a switch-hitter, isn't he?)
We might even be OK in this regard if Dickerson ever gets healthy again.

I think the Orioles just released Patterson and signed GMJ.

I am sure you are just as shocked as I am that this did not happen At some point I am sure the person who started this nonsense that he was coming to the Reds and would then play over Drew Stubbs will come on here and admit how wrong they were about this, right????
