So I guess only traditional powers are allowed to make the semis....or even the Quarters? So if you go back to the 50's then... only Hungary, Germany, Uruguay and Italy would have been allowed to play. Brazil did not become THE Brazil until 1958...Argentina was 3rd behind Uruguay and Brazil in SA soccer.
