Luckily the Astros are almost Reds 1982 like with their offense. You really don't stress at 120 pitches.

Cabrera has seen 7 pitches in 5 PA. He's seen a strike and looked at 1. So... 5 PA, 2 strikes, 0 balls, 6 swings, 3 hits. Interesting night.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

With a win tonight, Cueto goes to 10-2 w/ a 3.18 ERA. And people say we don't have a #1...
Those are the kind of numbers I want pitching Game 1 of the World Series, and also Game 4 when we go for and get the sweep. And Cueto pitches a Game 4 complete game shutout ending with a K of A-Rod. Sorry, just fantasizing a bit.

    Smith in.

I'd rather listen to Kelch read the phone book than suffer through Thom Brennaman's attempt to make every instance on the field the most important event since the discovery of manned space flight. -westofyou

That's one crazy fantasy. We both know it will be Evan Longoria.

Got in on the game late. Is there a reason mentioned why the Astros are pretty much all wearing stirrups? I like them, but not that high, but that's just me.

I think it is just to go with them wearing the old uniforms.

Oh, I'm rooting for it to be a Ray, Ranger, or Twin. But shutting out the Yankees to win the world series would just be all the more awesome.

There's no doubt Cueto is the ace right now. I think if we reach the playoffs it'll be

    1. Cueto
    2. Arroyo

and then game three will depend on how Volquez/Leake/Wood pitch down the stretch.

First place is quite nice again.

    Reds win!
"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”
