I hope these guys can reconcile and Pete legitimately is trying to get things together finally. He's getting up there in age, the Reds franchise finally seems to be doing something, and it would be great to see legends from the past like these guys be able to come together to appreciate it.

Thanks for the post. It is with some irony that the lives of Pete Rose and Ty Cobb exhibit so many parallels.

    Let's face it.....

Peter Edward Rose owes the entire City of Cincinnati

& the Reds Nation a heartfelt apology

given his outrageous + dysfunctional actions of the past.

Pete never learned how to be a human being.

Heck of a ball player though.

Who cares? The fantasy I had as a kid that these guys were BFF's hanging out together and grilling out on the patio's of each other's houses is gone, I could care less if they every speak to each other again.
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

I grew up in Cincinnati and got to meet pretty much all the BRM Reds. My father worked in the city at the time and knew the hotels the visiting teams stayed in and the places they would eat lunch so in addition I met a lot of visiting players over the years as well. I have a lot of great memories of players the overwhelming majority of which were very nice but I also have two vivid memories of players that were absolute jerks Pete Rose and Joe DiMaggio.

He was a great player but I never liked him and never will.

No Offense, but this makes me sick and disgusted. Pete Rose should not be ran down like this. Cincinnati and BASEBALL owe Pete Rose.

I understand he bet on games. I understand he has a gambling problem.

The standard was. Pete, just apologize and let the healing begin.

Pete apologizes and admits to betting on Baseball...

    RESPONSE:

I told ya so! Burn in Hell Pete, we knew it all along!

This franchise wouldnt have been to the World Series at all in the 70's if not for "Charlie Hustle"

    Show some respect.

Pete won't be alive forever, and then it will be too late to embrace the Legend.

What exactly does Pete Rose owe the city of Cincinnati and their fans??? He did nothing to take anything away from them. He only hurt himself. He gave so much to the city, the organization, and mostly the fans. Pete Rose doesn't owe me, you or anyone else anything.

I agree with Coach....Pete Rose doesnt owe you or anyone else anything. Fans always seem to think athletes owe them something. You pay to see them play and they play.
