Man would I love to have Balentine up with the big club, unfortunately I would guess Dickerson gets the call first and Nix gets to keep his role. Either way, I am glad the Reds have the depth to store Balentine at AAA this year and maybe he will get a shot next season.

Lynchburg adds four more in the fifth. They lead it 9-2 going into the sixth.

Nice inning by Chapman. He gave up an infield single (he's given up a ton of infield singles this season), but then bounced back with a strike out and a double play that he started himself.

    1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, 17 pitches/12 strikes

Chapman didn't quite start it. The ball tipped off his glove and went to Cozart who flipped to Valaika who bare handed it and fired to Alonso.

The infield single was real close. Cozart cut the ball off behind the second base bag (a little bit on the 2B side) and it was bang bang at first. Alonso thought they got the runner.

I would not mind seeing Chapman brought up for Bray, if Bray continues to struggle and no trades are made. Nothing like 100 heat coming out of the pen, he seems to be adjusting to the new role also.

Yonder Alonso is now 4-5 tonight.
    Zack Cozart is 3-5.

I think eventually Springer, Chapman, Burton, and Izzy all up. Only Springer, and possibly Izzy before September callups.

Juan Francisco just doubled in 2 on an opposite field line drive to the wall to make it 16-6 Bats.

It was an absolute BOMB. As soon as he hit it, you knew it was long gone.
