    Aroldis Chapman picked up his first career minor league save tonight as he threw a 1-2-3 9th inning. Bats won 5-2. Chapman: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, 2 GO/0 FO, 19 pitches, 14 strikes.
    I miss Adam Dunn.

Lousivlle got the win thanks to a four-run seventh inning. Interestingly, Aroldis Chapman got the save.

    BATTING
    2B: Griffin, M (13, Adkins), Frazier (20, Adkins).
    3B: Alonso (1, Williams, R).
    HR: Castillo, W (9, 5th inning off Santeliz, 0 on, 2 out).
    TB: Griffin, M 3; Alonso 3; Frazier 2; Castillo, W 5.
    RBI: Castillo, W (27), Sutton (25), Griffin, M (11), Frazier 2 (42).
    2-out RBI: Castillo, W; Griffin, M; Frazier 2.
Runners left in scoring position, 2 out: Griffin, M; Balentien; Francisco, J 2.
    SF: Sutton.
    Team RISP: 2-for-8.
    Team LOB: 7.

    FIELDING
    E: Balentien (5, throw).
    DP: 2 (Alonso-Valaika, Sutton-Griffin, M-Alonso).

Player IP	H	R	ER	BB	SO	HR	ERA
    Owings 4.0	6	1	1	1	1	0	2.57
    Reineke (W, 7-7)	4.0	4	1	1	1	2	1	3.59
    Chapman (S, 1) 1.0	0	0	0	0	1	0	3.94
    Also of note:
Micah Owings started the game and threw four innings of pitch-to-contact baseball that resulted in one run allowed.
Chad Reineke pitched four innings of relief and got the win.
    Aroldis Chapman got the save.
The speedster who is second on the team in stolen bases iIrc, Yonder Alonso, hit a triple.
The best DH in the league, Wilkin Castillo, hit a solo homerun.
Chris Valaika left the game early. I'm assuming it was due to injury, but I wasn't listening to the game today.
Mike Griffin is somehow one of the Bats' best hitters this year. His OPS is better than that of Zack Cozart, Yonder Alonso, Drew Sutton, Chris Heisey, Chris Valaika, Wilkin Castillo, Todd Frazier, and many more.

Ok, somebody wake me up from this nightmare.... Mesoraco, Valaika and Yorman Rodriguez left their games tonight with injuries?!?!?! Not sure why Yorman left, but he sat out last night and started as the DH tonight then was pulled.

    What a rough night....

Carolina was down 10-4, but they're finally showing signs of life again. The game is now 10-7. Chris Denove has homered, doubled in a run, and stolen third base in a three-RBI effort. Four of the seven runs Klinker has allowed were unearned. We can all let out a sigh of relief as Brad Boxberger pitched put together his first scoreless appearance for Carolina, throwing two shutout innings with three strikeouts. Lee Tabor was awful, allowing three runs in one inning pitched.

Re: Friday, July 30, 2010, Minor League Updates

The Dayton game is still tied at seven in the eight. They must really want to get this game over with, though, because they just brought in Junior Martinez. With five walks in an inning pitched, he would average one walk per inning. It would only be his second loss of the year.

    edit:
Junior Martinez will not get the loss. He decided to walk only two batters in the inning. The game is still tied with Tzu-Kai "Ah" Chiu in the game. God bless you.

    edit #2:
Apparently I misread the box score. Junior Martinez started off the ninth with two walks, and Chiu allowed both runners to score. Martinez gets the loss as the Dragons lose 9-7.

The Missoula Osprey lead the Mustangs 3-2 in the fifth. Yorman Rodriguez left the game early as a DH. Theo Bowe has a single, and Dayne Read has a homer; everyone else for the Mustangs is hitless.

Guys getting pulled from games the night before the trade deadline doesn't necessarily mean they're injured...

He has been pitching lights out lately, and he's been throwing a lot of strikes.

Missoula dropped 10 on Billings in the sixth. Yee-ouch. Ryan Smith took the brunt of it.

The good news is that Juan Duran is 2-for-4 with a double.

Sanchez hit another homer, and it was all the DSL Reds would need to win in the first game of a double header. It was a great game for De Los Santos as he pitched a one-hitter. I'm still waiting on the box score for the second game.
