17th shutout this season. If you're gonna get shutout a lot you might as well return the favor.

Janish may put up better numbers than Cabrera had for the season to date, but he won't play better than Cabrera has over the past five weeks. I don't see Cabrera's injury as anything but a negative.

Hes a mid .600 OPS player with average D. Its not a big loss no matter what.

You have to go back before the AS break to find a series in which we've lost game 2 tho. if you're looking for positive moJO.

I see Cabrera as a .715+ OPS player. I think his numbers were going to continue to rise because his bad baseball was behind him for the season. Just going by what he's done over the course of a lengthy career and what he's done over the past few seasons in particular. I'm not convinced Janish is going to be a complete replacement. We'll see.

I agree. CAB was nursing a (leg?) injury for several weeks at the end of the first half, and he was coming around the last few weeks.

Wood going to be interviewed on Baseball Tonight for anyone interested in catching it.
"He looked like a surfer kid from SoCal," manager Dusty Baker says. "He didn't say much, but you could tell he was cool."

We picked up 1/2 a game on SF. We are 1 1/2 games back. They don't play tonight.
