I had FSN on about 15 minutes ago and it was pouring in Pittsburgh.

Game on -- let's see how the Reds are baffled by the thoroughly mediocre Paul Maholm tonight.

Phillips leads off with a single to center. He has been on base 5 times this series already.

I don't think it can be said enough how much Phillips' approach at the plate has improved this year.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Since the ignorant Pirates delayed this game an hour and a half, we should just beat them into submission. Phillips does his job with a hit to lead orfrf!

I think there's a lot of truth to the idea that batting him leadoff has lead him to stop swinging for the fences on every pitch and just play within himself.

Brook Jacoby may know what he's doing. I remember wanting him fired.

BP started and stopped, due to a slide step by Maholm.

According to my father in law, it rained about 10 minutes total -- and they could have played 2 or three innings before the rain.
