I raise the question why does Dusty over think the top half of his line up so much.

If the Reds score five or more runs I am using these batting lineup numbers in the lottery tomorrow. 46 35 7 9 8 21

I will be willing to wager that Dusty Baker is one superstitious sonuvagun.

Maybe he's not the one over thinking it, you are.

Maybe, if you mean I actually think about it and he actually doesn't at all.

I like the line-up. I'm happy to see Heisey getting every day starts. The way Cairo's hitting, I'm fine with him batting 3rd in Votto's absence. The only thing I might have done is switch Heisey and Janish in the order, however Janish has hit Maholm well while others haven't, so it's good to me.

I see nothing wrong with the lineup. OCab is hurt. Votto is hurt. Stubbs isn't playing.

The order isn't a big deal to me. You need balance up and down the lineup.

    I think he UNDERthinks it
At least he moved bp to #1, but otherwise it's SS bats second dude!
Then just replace the names with the positions that were in the lineup yesterday - almost NO thinking!

I think that in a year or two, one of these guys - Frazier, Dorn, Valaika, Cumberland, Stubbs - will be ready to replace Dunn. They won't hit as many home runs as Dunn, but they should have similar OPS. - 757690, July 22, 2008

Alonso will be playing 1B for the REDS and batting 4th one year from today. - Kingspoint, July 9, 2009

    My future hopeful lineup:

    Dickerson
    Phillips
    Votto
    Rolen
    Hernandez/Hanigan
    Gomes
    Heisey
    Cozart

    Pipe dream, I know.
