    8/2/10 Reds @ Pirates

    1B bats 3rd?

    Phillips 4
    Cabrera 6
    Cairo 3
    Rolen 5
    Gomes 7
    Bruce 9
    Heisey 8
    Hanigan 2
    Wood LHP

Here's Cairo doing his best Votto again...
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I need a reason why there is no Votto in the next 5 minutes or my freak out will begin.

If it wasn't for those designer clothes he'd be able to play everyday.
If he wasn't Canadian, he could play a double header everyday.

He's distraught after finding out Snooki got arrested.

Bobby Cox used to do that a lot. Keith Lockhart starting for Chipper Jones? No problem, "witchy poo" is hitting third.
School's out. What did you expect?

LaRussa did that earlier this year when Pujols had a day off.

Seriously, who is a better option to hit 3rd anyway?

The entire OF can't hit anymore. Hanigan?

I found this. He's just being a good Canadian.

The first Monday of August is a civic holiday in most Canadian provinces. It is commonly referred to as the August Long Weekend.

Ronny Cedeno has been waiting for this series for months.
This is the time. The real Reds organization is back.

Don't worry, Heisey will be double switched out in the 4th.

    Per the post on ORG

johnfayman Votto "tweaked" his wrist yesterday on a swing. "I don't think it's serious. Hopefully, I'll be back in soon." #reds
I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't play at all this series. Sure would be nice if Gomes could play some 1B.

Travis Wood has one big job tonight...get Cedeno out EVERY TIME he comes up to bat. If he can do that then that's half the battle won all ready and I like our chances of winning this game.
"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

I'd rather listen to Kelch read the phone book than suffer through Thom Brennaman's attempt to make every instance on the field the most important event since the discovery of manned space flight. -westofyou
