I'd rather listen to Kelch read the phone book than suffer through Thom Brennaman's attempt to make every instance on the field the most important event since the discovery of manned space flight. -westofyou

I like Smith and Ondrusek. Bray is a more likely target.
I just didn't know if Bray had options. Ideally, for September, you want them all around. Send down the guy with options on August 30th or 31st to get Chapman up, then just bring that guy back up on September 1st when rosters expand. For a reliever, it's not a big deal as it wouldn't be all that much different than just not being used out of the bullpen for a few days.

    "Back injury."

I think he's on the DL for the ole case of bad though.

    Bray does have options.

Because you're dealing with human beings. And you can't release a guy if he's hurt.

I guess it really doesn't matter either way. Either way he's not going to pitch again, and he's going to get paid the same amount.

I actually think his back was hurt when he went on the DL, but the Reds don't have any place for him right now so he's stashed on the DL.

Ok, that makes sense then. I'd just send Bray down for a few days, but when rosters expand I'd want him back up. I'm the type who prefers to have as many big league caliber players on the roster in September as possible, especially when fighting for the playoffs. It really opens up the in-game options (though one could argue it also opens up the options for Dusty to screw things up with in-game managing).

Funny how we never hear anything about when Mike Lincoln could return.

And I don't want to hear anything about when Lincoln could return too. So long as he's out of sight, out of mind, we're good to go.

I was just thinking about Lincoln. I laughed a little.

    Masset on.

My network connection failed on me. Flyout to center, then a 5-4-3 DP. Masset in for the bottom of the 9th, not Cordero as everyone expected.
    Alvarez up
