It would have been really nice for John to explain what the 40 man roster actually is. I have no clue what the purpose of it is.

DRH probably is no big loss if he's picked up by someone else.

Springer just got back spasms. Would he be a huge loss if he was taken off to clear room on the 40 man?

LeClure could isn't that big of a loss. I would try to make a trade first though.

Move Harang to the 60 say DL. Put Dickerson on the 40 man. Problem solved until the end of August. Still have the same problem then, but no reason waiving anyone right now.

My first three to come off the 40-man:
    1. Micah Owings - Don't see him helping the big league club. His stuff is mediocre at best coupled with his control issues and the fact that I'd rather pinch hit Mike Leake if it came to it.
    2. Drew Sutton - He is a switch hitter which helps but he has really struggled in Louisville and his versatility doesn't seperate him from Frazier, Valaika, Cozart in terms of being valuable to the big league club.
    3. Daniel Ray Herrera - Left handed relievers are a commodity so I'd be surprised if this actually happened but the development of Chapman and health of Bray guarantee he isn't coming back up to the big's this year. When you're a lefty reliever you have to get left handed batters out and he never showed he could do that for the nearly three months he was up.
