Daniel Hudson - Diamondbacks

Starting pitcher tonight. I'm looking for a scouting report on him. Any ideas?

Here's what I see so far:

2009 CWS - 2 starts for the White Sox, 3.38 ERA, .225 BAA, 1.34 WHIP
2010 CWS - 3 starts for White Sox, 6.32 ERA, .293 BAA, 1.79 WHIP
2010 ARD - 3 starts for D-Backs, 1.59 ERA, .165 BAA, 0.75 WHIP

He's gone 7 or more innings in all 3 starts for the D-Backs. He had trouble walking people until he came to the D-Backs.

According to this report from mid-August Hudson has a four pitch mix: four-seam fastball (91-93 MPH but fell to 89-90 after the first three innings), a two-seam fastball (85-87), a change-up (around 82),  and a slider (81-82, but can subtract more into the 78 MPH range).

Hudson, at this point, is a two pitch pitcher...fastball and change-up...runs the fastball up to 94 and his change is above average. He does throw a slider , but it's a work in progress, he has thrown a couple of real good ones in his time with the Dbacks, but doesn't feature it all that much right now. Needless to say, in his time with the Dbacks he's been really impressive.

Data from Fangraphs.com would back this up. He gets swinging strikes 9.9% of the time which is above average.
