Carolina leads 4-0 in the 2nd

Mesoraco is 1-1, hitting his 22nd HR (12th in Carolina) in the first
    Sappelt is also 1-1 (now hitting .356; OPS'ing .957)
This will not change until the Reds win the World Series.......

Mesoraco just hit his 12th homerun for the Mudcats and his 22nd of the season, wow. Carolina leads 4-0 in the 2nd.

Mes had 3 or 4 pretty bad games that dropped his BA to the .270s from over .300 and now hes mashing again.

With there only being 30 games remaining, it's doubtful that Mesoraco will reach 30 homers for the season but 25-27 is looking very possibl. I'd like to see him get some atbats in Louisville if they make the playoffs.

Frazier doubles in a run and another run scores on a throwing error.

Didn't think we'd be seeing this. But as of the seventh inning, Alonso (.295) is actually hitting higher than Dorn (.294) on the season.

After four, Carolina's lead is 7-2. I, for one, sure didn't think Sappelt could maintain the pace he's been hitting at. But he's 3 for 3 tonight, and now up to .360. The second-place guy in the Southern League (Tony Campana) is at .332.
