That strike 2 call on Bruce was ludicrous

Bruce with his 3rd hit of the day and he has been on base 4 times.

Francisco needs to make up for his error by getting Gomes in right now.

I am going out on a limb here and predict that after the game Bailey is called up to start on Tuesday. Cueto is moved up to Monday and Leake is sent down. The reason for not announcing this sooner was to get through the rotation and be certain that a starter did not have to go to the DL.

I think Chapman for Bray is 50-50 because breaking in against the Cardinals in an important series is added pressure. I think it is equally likely that Chapman does not come up until the Florida series.

Maybe, but conserving IP for Wood, Leake and Cueto has to be a priority. With no anchor for a play-off rotation, Wood especially is a guy I'd like to see make it to the post-season with something left in the tank. I doubt Leake can stay that long regardless, but Wood has a chance and he's the team's best starter at this point. Lacking an acquisition to nail down a spot, I want him available in October.

Don't think so. They have a lot of faith in Leake. And the last thing I want to see is Homer Bailey starting a game in this important series. Sorry, but I just don't.

Albert Pujols disagrees with you, WV. He has consistently acknowledged how tough Bailey is.

I'm aware of that, but coming straight from AAA to MLB, I'd like to see him get his feet wet against other teams before he tackles the Cardinals. It might be a disaster.

Last year when we were discussing it about Bailey people said the same thing.
