No way. He should have been out because he was getting lit up, had nothing to do with pitch counts.

No more damage done. 8-4 going into the 8th.

Boy Bill Bray just tried to give the Cubs more runs with that throw to Votto.

Bray with a wicked slider to Votto.

I would have lifted him after the HR. No reason to waste innings when the mop-up guys need work. They need to treat Leake the same way and maybe Cueto too.

You're kidding, right? 19 pitches is too many? You're grasping at straws now. He threw 170 innings last year. He's not even to that point yet.

That means he needs to shut it down at 200 to 210. I want him available in October. He won't be around by then unless they conserve when they have an opportunity. An 8-0 lead and a mop up man in waiting in the 7th is a good time to do it.

Aw c'mon mth, he's been far better this year than you give him credit for.

For a lefty with stuff that nasty....I'm willing to give him plenty of leeway coming back from a year off.

If he can fine tune his control......he's a weapon in the stretch run.

And then watch Dusty trot Fisher out there and have him get lit up and watch Dusty get ripped on.

Remember the Nationals game with Owings?

Good hustle by Cairo for an infield hit.
