    Fun w/ wins....Surpassing past seasons

With the Reds steamrolling along in 2010....I thought it would be interesting to record the date the team matches the season win totals since 1977 for the remainder of the season.

    Here we go...

    1982/62/ August 6th
    2001/66/ August 14th
    1994/66*/ August 14th (strike shortened)
    1981/66*/ August 14th (strike shortened)
    2003/69/
    1984/70/
    2007/72/
    2005/73/
    1993/73/
    2008/74/
    1991/74/
    1983/74/
    2004/76/
    1997/76/
    1998/77/
    2009/78/
    2002/78/
    2006/80/
    1996/81/
    1987/84/
    2000/85/
    1995/85/
    1996/86/
    1988/87/
    1977/88/
    1985/89/
    1980/89/
    1992/90/
    1979/90/
    1990/91/
    1978/92/
    1999/96/

(the 96 wins represents the 9th most in Reds history)

VR, it looks like you missed a year...

    I don't see 1986 or 1989 on here either.

    1986: 86-76
    1989: 75-87

This is going to be a fun list to keep up with. Nice work.

By the way 1995 the last year the Reds made the postseason was another strike shortened year. They had 85 wins that year in a 144 game schedule

I think a '1978 or better season will be what it takes to win the division. Don't think about the wild card. Play to win the central and let the rest fall into place

84 was the year Rose took over as manager mid-season, iirc.

If they lose the rest of their games....they will tie 1993 and 2005 in the win column. Scary

    2008, 1991, 2008 win totals matched....8/27/10. Very nice.

(as pointed out below....let's make that last one 1983!)
