This win was huge IMO. The Cards gained a game yesterday and had already won big today. The Reds needed a win to keep from giving back a lot of what they'd built up in the last week.

And when they needed it, who comes through:
The veteran starter throws a gem, the ALL Star 2B gets 4 hits while playing stellar defense and the MVP candidate hits the go ahead HR and ices it with a big single following an epic AB.

Somehow that seems like the Reds stepping up and saying "we're for real." Its not a flukey game from Miguel Cairo or Laynce Nix, a blooper by Paul Janish, a rookie pitcher exploiting his first time around the league advantage or an out of nowhere HR from guys like Bruce or Stubbs who go into huge periods of being MIA. It was the guys who are supposed to pick-up the team doing it when the team needed it and somehow that feels less like a fluke and more like a sustainable performance.

I know as well as anyone that style points don't matter, but this just feels like a legit team winning the way its supposed to.

All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

What a GREAT win! Nice job all the way around. Bronson was great and Mr. MVP (aka, Most Vottomatic Player) just keeps on doing his thing. I love this team!

This is just my opinion, but if you don't believe in this Reds team by now, then you either aren't trying very hard or need serious therapy. GO REDS!!!

And lets not forget to mention the stellar series that Janish had defensively too. The guy has a horse of an arm.

Just wanted to chime in and say that was a great win yesterday! What a clutch performance by Votto! His HR was huge after the Dodgers had tied the game. Then the way he battled Broxton after being down 0-2 in the count. That was an MVP performance! Arroyo has been really fantastic too. The Reds needed him to go 7 innings and that's just what he did. Winning games like this goes a long way in winning a pennant.
