I don't know what the deal with Volquez is. I get the arm injury stuff, but you can't let him rehab at the major league level in the middle of a pennant race.

Five runs wouldn't be SO bad....but Cain is a beast.

the whole point in moving him to the pen was to save his arm. If you are going to pitch him 100 pitches a week you need to just put him back in the rotation.

It wouldn't be so bad if it were over five innings.

His arm is fine...he's not the smart of a pitcher.

Being able to throw strikes seems like a physical issue in this instance. He's not missing like Rick Ankiel.

Bruce went from a 3-0 count to a broken bat popper.

no I don't agree. If throws a total of 110 pitches once in a month is not the same as throwing a 100 every 5th day.

lol if you don't think they try to get better. im sure there plan is to be embarrassed

It's a work ethic issue and a concentration issue. Same with Cueto. On this road trip our so-called "best" pitchers have been horrible.

If they don't get 1 or 2 runs in the next inning or so I would think about pulling some starters

That may have been what they said, but I think it was because they saw him as the weak link in the rotation at that time.

This is the kind of game that's just going to frustrate me to hell and back if I continue to watch. You stake Matt Cain to a 5 run lead before most of the Giants fans even have their beer and you're got a lost cause on your hands.

Maybe Janish will pitch tonight. Dunno. I just know I won't be sticking around to find out.
