Dusty believes you have to hit your way out of a slump, hey it worked for Bruce he batted .200 for the month of July

I realize Gomes sucks, but v/LH I would choose him over Bruce too. I'll take the 40 points over his s***ty defense

You can throw stats out when a player is in a prolonged hitting slump. How can a good career stat mean anything when a guy can't do anything but strikeout or pop up for about 2 months?

And he's a huge liability in the OF. He singlehandedly was a big reason for losing the series against the Cards.

Dusty's continued reliance on tiring veterans and ignoring the obvious (long time hitting slump for Gomes) is mind boggling.

Did the Reds just claim Manny off the waiver wire per Twitter?

LOL. Gomes has been awful lately but saying he was the main reason we lost to the Cardinals is laughable.

I said "big reason", not "main reason". Big difference. Not MAIN difference.

The word "big" has a "b" an "i" and a "g" in it. The word "main" has a "m" an "a" an "i" and a "n" in it.

Yep, this one game would mean a lot. Especially for the psyche of this young team. Even with a 162-game schedule, some games carry more weight than others. This is one of them.

You also used the word singlehandedly. Do you know what that means?

Yeah, and it doesn't apply to Gomes because he when it comes to fielding, usually it's referred to as nohandedly.
