It also speaks to how much MLB will hate them in the future and get them back for going so far over slot.

Excellent job by the Reds to get Cisco and Grandal signed. The fact that they signed their top 15 picks is impressive. You can't judge this draft until a few years down the road but it certainly looks good on paper.

So what are the picks the Reds didn't sign? Anyone know? Also how many players is it typical for a team to sign in the draft? Signing the first 15 picks sounds to me like it doesn't happen with teams often.

they probably signed about 50% of the remaining picks. I'm too lazy to number them or look for the exact numbers.

They also signed Chad Rogers, the 28th-rounder. Here's the announcement from the club:

Reds sign first-round Draft pick Yasmani Grandal
August 17, 2010 – The Cincinnati Reds and first-round draft pick C Yasmani Grandal have agreed to terms on a 4-year Major League contract through the 2013 season.
The Reds selected Grandal (6-2, 210) out of the University of Miami (FL) with the 12th overall pick of June's first-year player draft. He will be assigned to the Reds' Arizona League summer team in Goodyear.
Other 2010 draft picks signed today were sixth-round pick RHP Andrew Cisco, 27th-round pick LHP Joel Bender out of Cincinnati's Oak Hills High School and 28th-round selection RHP Chad Rogers.

A sweep of the first 15 & 21 of the top 25, you can't do much better thatn that, IMO. I'd say that's probably even a little better than they we aiming for.

I'd say they put him in Arizona to keep him there for the Instructional League and AFL. If he fairs well, i could see him starting the year next year in AA with Devin in Louisville (if not AA then A+).

Cisco had signed to play for the University of Georgia and would have been the jewel of the Bulldogs' recruiting class. One major league scout who watched Cisco pitch his final eight games of his senior season said Cisco was so talented he could have been the Bulldogs' No. 1 starter this past spring.
