Justin Freeman and Donnie Joseph worked the final two innings of Carolina's 8-5 win, just as they had been doing so effectively in Lynchburg. Chris Denove was 4 for 4 with a HR. Miguel Rojas was 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs.

AZL Reds now lead 7-0. Torreyes is 2/5, Robert Maddox is 2/4 with a HR and Kurtis Muller is 3/4. Nathan Driessen took over for Guillon, who now leads the AZL in strikeouts.

The Valaika move, if true, would seem very odd indeed, in light of Phillips' swollen wrist.

Tanner Robles has to be in the discussion as well. After a few bad starts to his career he has been the BEST SP in the system over his last 8 starts.

    (8 Starts) 38 IP / 21 H (.142 BAA) / 4 ER (0.95 ERA) / 10 BB (2.0 Per 9) / 45 K (10.62 Per 9) / WHIP 0.82

Reds are limiting his IP. He is already 82.2 IP over last season.

I know his fastball sits at 88 in scouting vids. Has he found a few extra MPH or is his secondary stuff just that nasty? (Curve/Slider)

That was my thought and if Phillips' wrist is worse than a few days off he can be Dled and Valakia can be brought back up.
