I like the lineup... Wells has only won 2 games in his last 21 starts. He's had a bad season. We need to knock him around.

Gomes is horrible against righties. He has had a couple of games with hits recently because he has been starting against lefties. Heisey should be given a chance to start against righties.

    Batting:
Gomes against righties: 267 AB, 9 HR, .247 avg., .693 OPS
Heisey against righties: 63 AB, 4 HR, .371 avg., 1.112 OPS

    Fielding:
    Gomes: sucks
    Heisey: good

Heisey has been struggling lately but Dusty sat him on the bench for a week after he had been crushing the ball. I think he lost his swing with all the crazy line-up changes after the Edmonds aquisition.

Hasn't Wells pitched "Well" against us in the past though? I seem to remember earlier this year he beat us, or shut us down at least. I can't remember exactly though. He's one of these annoying pitchers we've run into several times this year that can show up one night JUST against the Reds and pitch great.

    Wait, found the stats:

Wells is 1-1 with a 2.45 ERA in two starts this season against the Reds and is 3-1 with a 2.58 ERA in six career matchups.

Just what I thought. Hope we can kick his ass tonight.

Is Heisey still on the roster?

ESPN has us as a 65 to 35% favorite, so hopefully they're right. I really don't want to see a junk pitcher like Wells shut us down again. Hopefully we can rock him early and often.

If he is I wish Dusty would play him over Gomes.

With some of the stats said by Thom and Cowboy there, it's amazing how people could keep saying Arroyo is not worth the option next season. Boggles the mind. Guy is as solid as it gets and a huge inning eater.
