Votto. Alonso, Bruce in the middle of the lineup. Pretty hard not to like that.

    Phillips, Bruce, Votto, Rolen, Alonso,
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Can he go back to the AFL? I'd like to see them sink/swim with him in LF thru the rest of the season and thru the AFL and see if they can't make it work with both him & Votto in the lineup.

If this is to see if he can play left for the Reds in 2011 I really don't understand why he hasn't played there more this year. I mean you had a whole freaking year to get him work in out there. Why wait till the last few weeks?

The only thing I can think is that there isn't much interest in him at first after shopping him around this year. And Walt doesn't think he can get value for his quality bat, therefore they don't think a trade is likely and are going to try and see if he can play left.

I think he had a slight injury earlyer in the season while he was playing LF and he had struggled (most likely due to hammate recovery) early. So maybe they were letting him get healthy and in a zone before working him more in LF? Just my thought ofc

    Goya or doug,

any word on Alonso's OF defense? Is it greater than or equal to the defensive prowess of Gomes?

The DSL Reds evened their semifinal playoff series against the league-best Cubs, 3-2. Eliezer Beard with the start, Eury Cantalizo with three scoreless innings of relief, and first baseman Carlos Sanchez with the deciding 2-run HR. The rubber game is tomorrow, with the finals to start Tuesday.
