Guillion is finished. It's Jose Amezcua's turn.

Amezcua, from Bellflower, Calif., was the third of three consecutive high school pitchers the Reds drafted this year in rounds 5-7, following Wes Mugarian and Drew Cisco.

For those interested, Amezcua goes by 'Tony', not 'Jose'.

Hiroki Kuroda was 0-45 in the seventh and got his first hit on the season. That is one more than he has allowed tonight.
A summer watching a bad Reds' team, is still a pretty good summer.

Why, thank you, sir. He was called Tony on draft day, but MiLB has him as Jose. I shall defer to you.

Now, Mitchell Clarke, who turned 20 yesterday (that is, Sunday).

The Reds' three pitchers were all born in the nineties. The Giants' four pitchers were all born in the eighties.

    Still 2-1 after seven.

Torreyes triples in three. He is now 3-5 with a 2B, a 3B and 5 RBIs. Then David Vidal doubled him home. It's 6-1 Reds.

AZL Reds score 4 in the 8th, the big blow a three-run triple by Torreyes. 6-1 middle of the 8th.

    Disregard my slowness. =)

How many times has Torreyes flirted with the cycle this year? Seems like he does it once a week.
"He looked like a surfer kid from SoCal," manager Dusty Baker says. "He didn't say much, but you could tell he was cool."

The AZL Reds unraveled a bit in the bottom of the eighth. Three walks. Throwing errors by Clarke and Grandal. It's 6-5 Reds going into the ninth.

You don't rack up the best record in the league by rolling over and the AZL Giants come back with four runs of their own in the bottom of the 8th. 6-5 AZL Reds heading into the 9th.

Once again my fingers betray me. LOL.

Grandal triples to lead off the ninth. He is replaced by a pinch-runner (Jeff Taylor).

But they don't score. Two strikeouts and a pop-up.

    Joel Ernst on to close.

Ernst did the job. AZL Reds win 6-5.
