The DSL Reds won Game 2 of the Championship Series 13-3. Tomorrow will be the 3rd and final game of the series and of the season.

They scored 13 runs despite just 7 hits.

18 Year Old Abel De Los Santos got the start and the win despite 6 BB in 5 IP. Musta been a strange breeze blowing since there was a combined 20 BB between the 2 teams.

    Sanchez had 2 Hits 2 BB and 3 RBI's.
If you can't be a good example... then you'll just have to be a horrible warning...

Nothing tastes as good as being fit feels...

I'm surprised that De Los Santos got the start, because he went 6.2 innings on Aug. 27. That seems like pushing it for an 18-year-old. It does suggest, though, that, of the many good-looking pitchers on that club, De Los Santos may stand apart a bit. I believe he was the team's only all-star.

The finals are proceeding pretty oddly. Most of the DSL Reds' games have been extremely low-scoring deals. But not these.

    Good stuff. Thanks.

Mudcats are in Birmingham tonight to begin a three game series after a rainout in Mississippi last night. Last stop on the last road trip of the year. James Avery on the hill at 1-3 and a 6.04 ERA. Game time 8:05.

Del Rosario relieves Maloney in 4th. Maloney did not appear to be injured, could be a call-up.

    and pitcher TBA.

With Negron being sent to the AFL, it really helps, if not solidifies his chances to be placed on the 40 this off-season.

If he performs. If he goes out there and plays poorly, I think it will seal his fate just as much the other way.

True. I can't remember if the deadline is before or after the AFL.

The AFL generally ends within days of the deadline to put players on the 40-man roster to prevent them from being taken in the rule five draft. I remember the Reds considering adding Logan Ondrusek to the roster before 2008, but his horrible AFL performance made it easy not to include him and impossible to trade him for anything of value. Then, last year, he learned a cutter, and now there are a bunch of Major League teams wishing they had taken a chance on him.
