Kurtis Muller triples home Robert Maddox to give the Reds a 1-0 lead over the Brewers in the 2nd inning of the AZL title game.
Radhames Quezada gets the start for the AZL Reds. He's a righthander from the Dominican Republic who just turned 20. He pitched very well earlier in the season for the DSL Reds before being called to Arizona, where, in five previous starts, he hasn't been quite as successful. He has, however, struck out 34 in 28 innings.
Juan Silva tripled, Ronald Torreyes drove him in with a double--his sixth RBI in two nights. It's 2-0 Reds in the top of the third.
Now Maddox--who has really played well lately--singled in Torreyes to make it 3-0.
Brewers tied it with 3 in the bottom of the third.
In the fourth inning of the Billings makeup game, Hamilton singled, Yorman tripled, Lutz singled to tie it at 2-2. It looks like the game is scheduled for seven innings. Tanner Robles is pitching for the Mustangs.
Mudcats win 9-4.
That appears to be their intention. In the fourth, with one out, Jaren Matthews walked (he does that a lot), Drew Poulk doubled and Silva did the same. It's 5-3 Reds and the Brewers are making a pitching change.
Nice to see Silva come alive. He's had a very disappointing season.
Dang, the Brewers tie it again in the bottom of the inning, chase Quezada, and now it's El'Hajj Muhammad, who has been very good in his first professional season.
The rally wasn't over. 7-5 Brewers after four.
Dang again. Torreyes singled with the bases loaded, but only one run scored. (It was his seventh RBI in two nights.) Then Junior Arias grounded into a DP. So the AZL Reds are down 7-6 going into the bottom of the sixth.
8-6 Brewers after six.
Tell you what, though. The Reds have a lineup that can make noise. There's not an easy out in the bunch.
Billings is going extras, 2-2. Kevin Arico did a nice job over two innings.
Heck, time to challenge Torreyes a little. Call him up to DaVille for the playoff run.
Seriously though, who replaces Alonso and Corky? Costanzo or Perez & Denove?
