Wow, this guy needs to be out of baseball.
Wow, this guy needs to be out of baseball.
pretty sure he's due for about a 30 game suspension after that. I'm glad he got decked, too bad it wasn't a better shot that could have knocked him out.
the first baseman came of nowhere

Doesn't he have a background in hockey?
He reminds me of Happy Gilmore on a baseball field lol. He's looking for fights that's for sure...I laughed pretty hard when I saw the video, but ya he needs to be suspended for a while.
Gaby Sanchez clotheslined him to the ground.
Morgan has been causing alot of problems lately. Ran over a catcher the other night instead of sliding. Separated the catcher's shoulder and Morgan was also out. They said had he slid, he would have been safe. I saw the video and agree.
Tonight they beaned him early in the game. He stole 2nd and 3rd when the game was out of hand, which supposedly upset the Fish. So they threw at him again and he charged the mound. What an idiot. Then when escorted off the field, he threw up his arms while the crowd boo-ed.

I think he did exactly what he should have done.
He hit the catcher, and it was a clean play. He could have slid but dont stand on the plate if you dont want clocked.
Plunked the next day, fine with that.
Stealing 2 bases, perfectly fine with that.
Throwing behind him again, cheap and they got the response they wanted from Morgan. Clearly he felt he had to handle it and I'm perfectly fine with him going off and charging.
Yelling at the fans when he was taken off the field was the only part I have a problem with honestly.

I think the play last night, while not pretty, was clean. Catcher was very near the plate, and only went up for the throw when Morgan was not far from the plate. Morgan probably had his mind made up by then what he was doing.
That said, it was not hard to understand why the fish were upset. They hit him, enough done. Nyjer then proceeds to steal 2nd and 3rd, while down 11 runs. Apparently there is an unwritten rule that he should not do this. I don't see a problem with it. Up 11, I would tend to agree. However, it was only the 4th. Are they just supposed roll over and give up? It ain't over until the 3rd out of the 9th. How many large leads have we seen the Reds give up this year?
The fish take exception with the SBs and throw behind him. That was not called for. I agree with him standing up for himself. If you throw out the running into the catcher from the other night, I don't think many would blame him. It is the fact that he is already facing a suspension from throwing a ball into the stands and the game from the other night that has everyone condemning him. He's quickly gotten a rep, now it will be hard to get out from under it.
I hadn't heard of this, but assumed they were UP by eleven! Down eleven, I never heard of an unwritten rule saying you shouldn't try to score.
I'm with you^ and GIDP
Too bad they don't still have E. Dukes, a couple of high character guys.
The play last night took place in the 10th inning of a scoreless game where he was trying to make a play to win the game. He could have, and in hindsight should have, slid instead of trying to knock the ball loose from the catcher but it's a split second decision and it was not a dirty play. It's unfortunate that the catcher got hurt on the play but that is going to happen when you allow runners to try to run over the catcher.
I'm sure he expected some sort of retribution tonight and he took the first HBP without causing a scene. It wasn't until after the pitcher threw behind him that he became upset and felt the need to charge the mound. Whether or not that is a good idea is certainly debatable but I've got a feeling that Nyjer Morgan isn't the only guy who would have charged in that situation.
Yup, only problem I had with this was his exit from the field.
I actually thought his exit was great, me against the world thing. I enjoyed the whole event .
morgan played the game the way it is supposed to be played. if your mad he is stealing bases down 11 than throw him out. the marlins egged him on and volstead will be suspended
