    Friday 09/03/2010 Minor League Updates

The Cincinnati Reds have made a roster move impacting their Double-A affiliate Carolina Mudcats prior to tonight's series opener against the Tennessee Smokies.

OF Sean Henry has been promoted to Triple-A Louisville. Henry, a mid-season Southern League all-star, was hitting .298 with five home runs, 56 RBI and 15 stolen bases.

Hopefully this does not mean Frazier to DL...

The Bats are simply stocking up for the playoffs. If the Mudcats were in the post-season, I'm sure you'd be seeing guys like Neftali Soto and Cody Puckett promoted.

I think it's response to Balentien going on the DL.

Krebs took Balentien's spot. Unless a reliever is callup along with Maloney today, it is likely Frazier.

I would have figured Maloney and who ever else was coming up today would have been on the same plane. Maybe not though. I think Maloney was the only one on the way to St. Louis.

The Cincinnati Reds have made one additional roster move impacting their Double-A affiliate Carolina Mudcats just prior to tonight's series opener against the Tennessee Smokies.

IF Cody Puckett has been added to the Mudcats' roster from High-A Lynchburg. Puckett will be in uniform for tonight's game.

The Mudcats' roster is at 23 players, one shy of the Southern League limit.

Puckett is listed as a 2B, Jake is here (for the time being) where does he play or did he play in Lynchburg?

At a glance he is a 2nd baseman but has played some outfield.

I want to see Kyle Day play here. He looks interesting on paper, a Michigan State kid. Puckett is in town now as well although I did see him in Lynchburg. Yeah, I'm going to try to get out there.

Looking at the Mudcats roster, I'm thinking Pucket will play the outfield. There are only three guys currently listed in the OF without him.

Yea hopefully he can play outfield. Come Monday, shirts off our backs day, try and win a BP jersey. I'll be there, of course.
