He threw about as bad a first inning as possible. He has no command whatever of anything that moves.

Yes, but I'm just not feeling it anymore

Cubs escape a jam in the 9th, limit the Cardinals without any runs. Going to the bottom of 9, still 8-7.

This is the first time (and only time hopefully) in my life that I want to be able to sing, "The Cubs are going to win today" after the game.

Not even a wimper for the Cubs. Just as I figured.

Oh well. The Reds can now clinch in Cincinnati, potentially.

I now reinstate all the bad things I've ever said about the Cubs.

Is it wrong/bad to want St. Louis to WIN tomorrow, assuming the Reds hold on tonight? I don't want them to clinch on a day off...

While the Cubs could not play the spoiler today, they did plenty to help us out this year, as did the Pirates and Astros.

Who would have guessed when we got him in 2006 that Kyle Lohse might clinch the division for the Reds in 2010?

    1-0 Pirates in the second.

We have a special game thread on the game forum for those that want to follow along.

Phillies up 8-0 in the ninth. Think it's safe to say at least one NL title will be handed out tonight.

By the way, Martin Prado looked like he may have gone down with an oblique injury about five minutes ago in the Braves/Marlins game. That certainly isn't going to be good for Atlanta.
