I don't follow the Bats game by game, so forgive me if I sound ignorant. But...why?
He leads the team in runs scored and total bags. But he also has at least 102 more ABs than everyone else on the team.
Does he get it because of his ability to play more games? Because he only played 6 more games than Frazier and Frazer has slightly better average, slugging and OPS.
Is it because of his premium position of SS to go along with his ability to hit home runs?
Or did we just call up every better player and they just named him MVP because he was the best that's left?
Because I think Balentein had an outstanding year, and was a much better hitter than Cozart.
I also would have picked Alonso over Cozart.
Can someone explain to me what I'm missing?
Great defense at a premium position, leads team in runs scored, played a lot.
Frazier amy have had slightly better stats but not enough to make up the defensive difference.
Certainly arguable, but not a shocking choice.
Congratulations to Zack. He's been one of my favorites since Carolina has been affiliated with Cincy.

Rock solid AAA campaign for Cozart. Certainly deserves this kind of accolade.

Would love to see the REDS dump Orlando Cabrera and go with Janish and Cozart next season.
Don't even give Dusty a chance to screw it up (assuming Dusty takes the best offer he'll ever get to Manage again in the Majors).
