Reds will not win the Central playing the way they have played against the Rockies. They will not beat the Pirates, Astros, or Brewers by failing to get runners in from 3rd and less than 2 outs, letting a player steal home, starting pitchers only going 5 innings, etc... I don't think these are things that can be fixed over night, this is not a very good baseball team right now and the Pirates, Astros, and Brewers will not roll over.
The division lead will be 5 after tonight and Carpenter will not lose tomorrow. There is no way Wainright and the Cardinals lose after seeing the score and knowing they can cut it to 5.
The Braves are playing for something as well, and they are due to get hot again.
It is called the law of averages. Do you really think we should have the best record in the NL? It was fun for a week, but this is not a 95 or 98 win team. We are good....but not the best record in the NL or the 3rd best record in baseball...no way. We are just coming back down to earth. Lets just hope the cards don't get hot.
They have blown huge leads all year. I know they are going to lose games, but they should not be blowing huge leads this often. There is some mental issues in that dugout when it comes to letting the foot off the pedal then all acting like they have to be heroes and turning into terrible hitters. We have seen it non stop. Its the manager or its the hitting coach, or the players. Something is really really terrible for this team to pull stunts like today.
