Since Balentien is playing in AAA again it might be time to make room for him on the 40 man roster.
Cairo in RF is scary, more so than Gomes in LF. Stubbs has his work cut out for him tonight
I honestly think Id rather see Janish or Valaika out in RF than Cairo. Hell put Votto in right and Hernadez at first base or something.
Cairo doesnt have the speed or the arm to play OF.
No Cairo has been taking OF practice for a week or more. Basically hes the best OF left because hes played 68 games in the outfield with an amazing 297 innings.
Basically they are saying a 36 year old with experience is better than guys in their mid 20s with out it. I would understand it Cairo wasnt so old but they probably should have had Janish and Valaika taking OF balls instead.
Oh well hope Drew Stubbs is limbered up.
This is beyond ridiculous. Expanded rosters and we are starting the Ancient Mariner in right field out of necessity. Whither Jay Bruce?
are we gonna DL jay bruce? unreal, what is wrong with him?
Reds outfield tonight: Rock -- Stubbs -- Hard Place.
No reason to DL a player in September.
Alonso played 30 games in the OF in AAA, but since Dusty sees better than stats talk he will never play out there.
Well, it is Charlie Morton of the 1-11 record and the 9.66 ERA on the mound for the Pirates.
Volquez has been instructed to not let them hit anything to right field. Nice.
What did they decide to do with Harang??
Cincinnati Reds
Marshall Thundering Herd
Kentucky Wildcats
Indianapolis Colts
Washington Wizards
You have to scratch your head and wonder what exactly are the Pirates thinking in handing the ball to Charlie Morton. His numbers, both career and season, are ugly. In 12 starts this year he has gone 4 innings or less 7 times. In 50.1 IP he has given up 83 hits, 66 runs and 54 earned runs. His WHIP is over 2.0. He is giving up 2.5 HR/9. He is an average strike out pitcher with below average control. He wasn't a very good pitcher before the season - 5.25 ERA in 33 starts. And he is almost 27. Pittsburgh must have someone in their system that they would like to see get some starts at the major league level, right? I just don't get it.
