Answer Man: Vin Scully talks candy, Dodgers and 'Bewitched'

What is Scully like in person? If you've watched a Dodgers game or any of the countless national events in Scully's storied career he's a lot like he is on the air: Warm, friendly and full of great stories a few of which hes about to share with you.

That was a good read. I've always had trouble liking Vin Scully because I associated him so strongly with the Reds biggest rival in the 2-division era during my lifetime. This interview, and especially the "Bewitched" reference, made me like him.

I love Marty, but Vin is the greatest announcer of my lifetime, hands down.

    Thanks, great read.

    Thanks WOY!

The story about Elizabeth Montgomery is great. She was always one of my favorite TV actresses.
I wish Scully would do an autobiography. It would be just so great to read. There was a biography about him a couple of years but IMO it wasn't that good. Mainly just a Dodger history from the 50's to now with a little of Scully mixed in.
Scully is one of the best ever. I'm glad he's coming back for another year.

I don't think I could walk for 6 years if Elizabeth Montgomery had buried her face in my back and grabbed a hold of me to go up stairs to the Rose Bowl Parade.

    Yowsers.

    Yea, you got that right.

I was wondering why she just didn't twitch her nose and just pop up to that scaffold.

I've long had a crush on Elizabeth Montgomery, and Vin is the soundtrack of baseball from my youth [game of the week, the playoffs etc]. Love the read, thanks so much.
