You are going to have a lot of losses if you manage long enough.
LaRussa is second, Cox is fifth, and Torre is sixth on the loss list.
Looking at this list makes me feel like Dusty has a good shot at the HOF. I assume he has another 10+ years or so managing and depending on his teams he should make it into the top ten all-time win category.
JMO.
For a guy who could not manage his way out of a paper bag, according to many on this board, 1400 wins is not too bad.
Some on here would tell you that the total should be about 1500 if not for his poor in game managing and that all those games were won in spite of him
