Mario Soto and Tom Hume combined on a three-hitter in a losing effort for the Reds. The only hits for the Astros were a one-out infield single by Denny Walling in the fifth inning, a two-run double by Craig Reynolds with one out in the fifth, and a leadoff double by Enos Cabell in the sixth.
