Post season line up and roster

Ok we all did this back in March, i.e. predicting, debating, and listing our preferred lineup and roster to start the season. Let's do it again for the post-season!

    Here's mine:

    Stubbs
    Phillips
    Votto
    Rolen
    Bruce
    Gomes
    Cabrera
    Hernandez (unless Arroyo is pitching)

    Rotation
    Arroyo
    Cueto
    Volquez
Bailey/Wood (depending on the line up they're facing)

    Pen
    Bray
    Ondrusek
    Rhodes
    Massett
    Chapman
    Cordero
(Bailey or Wood are the long man)

    Bench
    Janish
    Hannigan
    Cairo
    Heisey
    Nix
Fransisco (depends how healthy Nix is. if Nix can play the outfield, I'd drop JF and add Smith to the pen)

Janish starting and on the bench? You must really not be a fan of OCab.

Basically i view him as a waste of money, but since he is here, i would use him as a bench player...

The rotation is going to depend heavily on who and where the Reds will be playing.

...and he has been a veteran presence along with Rolen around the dugout. And he only cost $2MM. For what he has contributed, stats as well as presence, I say he has been worth the money.

Now next season with a $4MM option, I think it will be time to give Janish the job.

Do you guys really not see Harang making the post-season roster?

Yes. I think Walt will make the final decision, and I can't see him wasting a spot with Harang when there are 20 better alternatives.

Though, if Walt truly wants Dusty (I don't believe he does and that it's Castellini who "made" Walt offer Dusty and extension) to sign the extension, then he gives Dusty Harang for the playoffs. I'm pretty certain that Baker wants Harang, but even Baker's tired of him pitching poorly.

I think if Walt wants to sabotage the negotiations between the REDS and Dusty, he holds someone back from the playoff roster that Baker wants, as long as it's someone that Walt feels shouldn't be on the roster.

Can you elaborate/add credibility on your belief that Walt doesn't want Dusty back?

I was under the impression they have a great working relationship with mutual respect.

    .
Furthermore, can you elaborate on the 20 better alternatives to Harang?

    I realize you are exaggerating....

Re: Post season line up and roster

From my observations it doesn't seem like Walt and Dusty have a similar philosophy for winning a Championship. It's just my observations.

On Harang, I can think of 20 players I'd rather have than him. I really wasn't exaggerating. When you're talking about non-starters for the playoffs, you're talking about "specialists". I just can't think of anything Harang specializes in (such as inducing a GBDP, a pop-up, a strikeout, is dominant against RH's or LH's, stealing a base, pinch-hitting a single, pinch-hitting an extra-base hit, playing Defense, etc.). There are several other pitchers/players who would be more useful
