About 3 more wins on this trip and we will probably clinch on the road...and that is just fine by me. The 10,000 that show up next Monday can cheer for the reigning Central Division Champions.

Hopin' to see a card for one of the best catchers we've ever had, #6, the man from Strawberry Plains. Somebody must have an Ed Bailey.

I think there is one on the sister thread on the sun deck.

I have been only posting photos of players who were members of past Reds postseason teams. But I see that Ed Bailey was briefly a member of the 1961 Reds. So here it is:

Eric Stratton, Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet ya.

I hope no one shows up for a game next Monday night since the Reds are off that day and those folks would be a mighty disappointed group down at GABP, LOL

For the first time, the Magic Number(6) is smaller than the number of games ahead of St. Louis (7)....

    Re: Reds' magic number

Here's an obscure one for you.

". . . acquiring J. Blanton from Oakland for, apparently, Bailey/Cueto, Votto and a lesser prospect. I do it in a second . . . The Reds' equation this year is simple: Make Matt Belisle your #3 starter . . . trade for Blanton, win 85 or more, be in the mix all summer." - Paul Daugherty, Feb. 8, 2008
