SOmetimes instead of hating ya got to tip your cap to the opposition and this time I think Wandy deserves a tip of the cap he battled with everything he had and the Red still tied it up, I'd say good job Wandy, better job Reds.

I would have taken 1 run going into that inning.

It was only a failure after we loaded the bases with no outs.

But as a whole, the inning was a success.

And Rodriquez may well be finished.

Was thinking the same, we really worked him well that inning. 3 innings against a weak pen.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

And the lineup will turn over at least one more time. All is not lost.

I thought it looked like he hit it pretty solid.

I do not like the idea of going with Rhodes here. He hasn't been right in a while...

    One down.

This game is in good shape.

Glad Reds scored there, could have stranded all three which would have been tough.

    Good start by Volquez: 6IP, 7H, 2ER, 1BB, 8K.

Btw, I'd go with Volquez in game 1.

Indeed -- and the hits weren't exactly stung. Looking much better in September. I think he's pitched his way in to the playoff rotation.

Cards up in the bottom of the fourth, trail by a run.
