My favorite of all time show. I never get tired of watching them. TVLand had a vote of the top 50 shows and have been airing them recently. With the Reds doing so well this year I haven't had chance to watch any of them.

The black & white Andy Griffith episodes were top-notch TV. The color episodes featuring Howard? A different story.

Opie the Birdman might be the best single episode of any show ever.

I know line for line alot of the episodes.

The episodes with the "Fun Girls" from Mt. Pilot are my fav.

If you are ever in Indy make it a point to visit the Mayberry Cafe. It is a restaurant dedicated to the show.

A while back I went to a library sale and bought a DVD with 3 episodes of TAGS on it. A friend of mine hadn't watched the show too much so I unwrapped it and put it in the DVR. First problem was it was a different theme song. It was similar but it wasn't the one they used. Then my friend noticed that the audio was way out of synch. My friend thought it was good but I was somewhat embarrassed that it was such bad quality. So, if you see a 3 episode set of TAGS that has Golden Movie Classics and Genius Entertainment, don't buy it.

Chip, I bought one of those a few years ago, before all the season sets of the series came out, to say it was cheap is an understatement, looks like a copy of a copy of a vhs tape.

Ernest T. Bass episodes are my absolute faves. He was only in five, I believe. Next faves are episodes with the Darlings coming down from the mountain. Quality t.v. right there.

Nice walk down memory lane.... Some of those season 1 episodes were quite the little morality play gems.
