I'm elated that GAB will finally get to host the postseason. Let's hope it's for a lot more than just one or two games! It's a shame that it took eight years before it could happen.

Somewhere, Riverfront Stadium is looking down and laughing, wondering what the big deal is. By the time it was 6 1/2 years old, it had hosted four World Series, five NLCS, and an All Star Game. Red, white, and blue bunting was a staple at that old saucer.

Help stamp out, eliminate, and do away with redundancy.

Bleachers out in right field if they reach the NLCS?

I assume he's talking about down in the corner in foul territory? Or maybe over the bullpen? That'd be interesting to see.

EDIT: Am I wrong for thinking we brought in extra bleachers in foul territory for the Civil Rights Game last year against the White Sox? I was at that game and seem to remember that. I could be wrong though.

You're correct, those are the bleachers he's talking about. Basically right where FOX Sports Ohio's old set was before they moved to their location on the 3rd base concourse.

"...an ESPN set is planned to be placed underneath the smokestacks in the outfield."

How about turning on the "mist" right as Sutcliffe and company comes on the air?

I hate ESPN, but seeing them live from GABP would be so awesome to see.

Why? They'll just talk about how great the Yankees are during the whole show.

Yeah. They showed the platform. It looks... empty... without it. (no duh)

I'd rather listen to Kelch read the phone book than suffer through Thom Brennaman's attempt to make every instance on the field the most important event since the discovery of manned space flight. -westofyou

No but I thought I read before where they were giving that away to a fire department.

They gave it away. They got another one. I don't know why they would take it down. Seems silly.

Most likely, another Car Company paid for exclusive rights for the league championship series.

I always wondered who had the funny Idea of putting a foreign truck a top a stadium named Great American. I am happy that the stain is gone.
