There are a few articles on the Reds/Phils series on fangraphs. Dave Cameron has an interesting take on the series; essentially, he suggests that the Reds/Phils series is a lot closer than most people think. The Phils have a substantial edge in starting pitching, but the Reds have advantages in the bullpen, offense, and defense.

Excellent strategy offered by Cameron. Depth in virtually all areas has been the Reds' biggest strength this season, IMO. Finding a way to effectively capitalize on that advantage may be the only reliable method of slaying the juggernaut Phillies.

I just read the first fangraphs link. Although i get the premise of the article and tend to agree on some level, I have to question what is behind an analysis that seems to clearly state that Janish will be playing SS and Gomes won't be in LF. Unless he really knows something I don't, that is simply not the case. It seems like one of those "way-too-early" pre-season magazine analyses that don't take into account trades, roster cuts, injuries, etc....
